Golders Green
A rare gem in the midst of 1930s metroland, this 1970s house had already been turned into an über cool family home by the owners. Like living in a contemporary art gallery, the house was mid-century modern long before it was a thing.
The brief was to give everyone their own spaces; bedrooms, bathrooms, chaos and calm. Also a dedicated office and a guest room.
We worked with the owners to get a layout that worked for them and the house, and then secured planning approval for what was to be a 3 storey rear extension. Five ensuite bedrooms to the first floor, a larger kitchen and reception to the ground floor, and a playroom and annex in to the lower ground floor. There was even space for a funky outdoor nook and terrace.
The owners employed a project manager to work alongside the builders and commissioned professional photographs of the finished scheme (Adam Butler Photography).
Recently, we’ve designed and secured a further planning approval plus produced a tender pack for a 2-storey front extension which adds a fitness studio to the lower ground floor and a huge oriel window to the sitting room.
